This is Carol Kalhagen. She is a wildlife artist. Carol paints bears, lots and lots of bears. Very serious bears. This bear means business!
Then,Carol came to live by a creek that flowed next to the woods. This little creek seemed to be minding its own business as it gurgled happily along. One day though, she noticed the creek changing colors. One minute it would sparkle when the sun shone, as it laughed over the rocks. Then the creek turned green as it passed the green trees that stood on its bank. Sometimes it was the blue of the sky that seemed to stretch on forever. Carol could see the trout hiding around the deep pools by the tree roots were the water was a sienna brown. The best time though was autumn, when the maple leaves turned bright yellow. This made the creek look like rushing gold. The creek, she realized, was magic.
It was soon made known to her that all the animals who lived here had special names. They played together and helped each other out. There was one little bear though, who stood out from the rest. Mugwa is that little bear. Not that Mugwa isn't a serious bear, he is. Perhaps it's the glasses, for anyone with a problem has a wise friend in Mugwa.
So, if you're feeling stressed or a little down, 'Talk to Mugwa', everyone else does!
