Carol Kalhagen is an Internationally published wildlife artist who was known for telling stories with her paintings. In 2007 she published her first children's book so she could illustrate her story - at the urging of Mugwa:

Since then, Mugwa and Washtucna have traveled many pathways and along the way a heart was broken. Washtucna, the little mouse with the big heart, had to tell HIS story.

A new book, "Washtucna and the Safe Place" is now available.
